About us

In 1977, Patrick Steptoe and Robert Edwards successfully carried out a pioneering conception which resulted in the birth of the world’s first baby to be conceived by IVF, Louise Brown on 25 July 1978, in Oldham General Hospital, Greater Manchester, UK. I was only 30 odd miles in Liverpool, about 30 years ago when this first epoch breaking IVF technique was World News from Oldham General Hospital.

It’s a journey taken over 30 years. When this pioneering work was first developed in 1978 I had a little dream and wish that I could be part of similar success in Mysore and this would be of immense help to the unfortunate couples. Dr. Priya Mahesh

Dr.Priya is a very lovable person and her patients just adore her, giving her all the credit of bringing ‘life, joy & smiles’ in the homes of many unfortunate childless couples and many expectant mothers. She is an experienced Obstetrician, Gynecologist and Infertility Specialist, always available and very kind to her patients.

She graduated from JSS Medical College, Mysore and specialized in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from the University of Mysore. She too is a Mysore University rank student in Paediatrics winning a Memorial Medallion for her achievements.

She went on to do ultrasound training programme from Medi Scan U/S training Institute, Chennai in 2003. She did an Advanced Training Course in Assisted Reproductive Techniques from the Institute of Reproductive Medicine, Salt Lake City, Kolkata under Dr. B.N Chakravarthy.

She now works as a Senior Consultant at Chitra’s hospital & IVF Centre, has a highly specialized team with expertise to help both expecting mothers & couples wanting a child and already has achieved remarkable success.

Egg Freezing

Donor Program

Embryo Donor

IVF with embryo donation is a third party reproductive techniue that uses the
male and female gamete of a third party for forming an embryo.

Sperm Donor

If there are severe abnormalities found in the sperm count or shape
of the male partner, then this procedure can be done to fertilize the female’s egg with a donor’s
sperm

Egg Donor

This procedure is undertaken when
the female partner is unable to produce healthy egg for fertilization. here egg collected and stored from an egg donor are used for fertilization

The IVF success rates depend upon many factors like the age of the patient, number of IVF stimulation attempts made, cause and duration of infertility, upon the eggs- their number, quality and maturity, the sperms – their count , motility, and morphology, number of embryos and their quality, and endometrial lining. So for the success of IVF, a healthy egg with a viable sperm is required along with the uterus that is able to maintain the pregnancy The age of the patient is a very important factor while considering the IVF success rates because the rate of fertility begins to decline from mid to late thirties of women. To increase the rate of pregnancy one way is to freeze the pre-embryos that are extra and the other way is to try again. IVF is a scientific process and is a bit expensive too, so when all the less expensive methods fail, IVF is tried.

We are proud to say we have achieved a good success rate of approximately 40 % and take home baby rate of about 35 % which is on par with international standards.
